Laughter Lines — John Robertson — Paul Duncan McGarrity

**A surreal romp through past, future and death with John Robertson and Paul Duncan McGarrity**

**John Robertson’s Dark Room**
Tonight, dear friends of Laughter Lines @ Miller’s, your worst nightmare will become true. You will be locked in a dark room with a crazed Australian. He will be pummelling you with insults, ghastly laughter and ridiculous jokes until you will be begging him to stop. In vain! There won’t be any escape. You will end up hurting in ways you never thought possible from the sheer physical terror of enforced laughter far beyond the point where you once thought endurance would end. John Robertson describes himself as a “recreational sadist” and an “anarchic improviser and insult comic (which is the same as being a sadist, except my slaves are the whole audience).” He isn’t far wrong. He is also a multi-award-winning comedian, including the “Arts Award Voice” in the Pick of the Edinburgh Pick, 2016. Tonight, we can safely promise, is a night you will never forget - if you’re lucky enough not to DIE!

**Paul Duncan McGarrity**
Paul Duncan McGarrity’s last Edinburgh show was entitled “A Practical Guide to Attacking Castles”. And that’s exactly what it was. Paul is a fully trained archaeologist and therefore not quite of this world. His philosophy of life is soaked in the age of sieges and chivalry. His desperate and probably futile attempts to come to terms with modern mores and manners are pickled in medieval love lore and driven by the same addiction to adrenaline that compelled sane young men to dress up in armour, pick up a lance, and charge at each other on horseback. Catch him while you can!

Paul’s hilarious podcast Ask the Archaeologist can be found here:
